For restaurants & food providers
Merchant guide
Everything you need to run your business on HereEats — from signing up to daily orders, including how to prepare a Stripe account for online payments.
How HereEats works
HereEats connects your restaurant with customers nearby. They browse your menu, order and customise dishes in the app, and you confirm each order with a pickup or delivery time. There are no platform couriers — you deliver with your own drivers, or the customer picks the order up.
- No subscription and no listing fee — you only pay commission on completed orders.
- The introductory commission is 8% of the food subtotal. Your delivery fee is never included — it stays 100% yours.
- Commission is invoiced once a month for the previous month.
- Customers currently pay at pickup or delivery (cash or your card terminal). Online payments via Stripe are coming — see below.
- You manage everything yourself in the dashboard: menu, hours, delivery area, orders and statistics.
Getting started
- 1
Create an account
Register at merchant.hereeats.com/register with your name, email, phone and a password.
- 2
Add your restaurant
The setup wizard takes about 10 minutes: name, address and map location (use “Find coordinates from address”) plus up to 5 categories.
- 3
Choose your services
Enable pickup, delivery with your own drivers, or both. For delivery set the fee, minimum order and radius in km. Set the average preparation time and opening hours (hours past midnight are supported).
- 4
VAT and terms
Mark whether the business is VAT-registered and enter the VAT ID — it is used on the monthly commission invoices. Then accept the terms of service.
- 5
Build the menu
Your restaurant starts hidden from customers, so you can take your time adding sections, dishes, prices, photos and options (see below).
- 6
Go live
When the menu is ready, open Settings and switch the restaurant to published. From that moment customers can find you and order.
Receiving orders
New orders appear instantly in the Orders tab with a loud repeating chime. During opening hours keep the dashboard open on a tablet, phone or computer and leave the sound on.
- 1
Accept or reject
A new order shows all dishes, selected options and the customer's note. Accept it with an estimated time (ETA) or reject it with a reason the customer will see.
- 2
Update the status
Move the order through Preparing → Ready → Out for delivery (delivery only) → Completed. The customer follows every change live.
- 3
Completed
Completed orders count towards your statistics, and the customer can rate the order with 1–5 stars.
- If you run several restaurants, switch between them at the top of the sidebar; the chime can ring for all of them or only the ones you pick.
Hours and settings
- Opening hours — Set daily hours, split shifts (two intervals per day) and hours past midnight. Customers see you as open only within these hours.
- Delivery — Delivery fee, minimum order and delivery radius in km from your restaurant.
- Publishing — In Settings you can publish or hide the restaurant at any time — during holidays, for example.
- Images — Upload a cover photo and a logo — they are the first thing a customer sees.
- Dashboard language — The dashboard is available in English, Slovenian, Croatian and German. The menu language is separate — that is the language your customers see.
Payments and commission
Today customers pay when they receive the food — in cash or by card at your place, just like any other guest. HereEats never holds your money.
For every completed order HereEats charges an introductory commission of 8% of the food subtotal. The delivery fee is excluded. Once a month you receive an invoice for the previous month's commission — nothing is deducted automatically.
If the rate ever changes you will be notified in advance, and the new rate applies only to orders placed after the change.
Online payments & Stripe — get ready
Coming soon
We are preparing online card payments through Stripe, one of the largest and most trusted payment providers in the world (used by Amazon, Booking.com and Shopify). Money from online orders will go directly to your own Stripe account and from there automatically to your bank account — HereEats never touches your money.
You can get ready today by opening a free Stripe account. Opening one is free with no monthly fees; Stripe charges a small fee only on each successful card payment.
What to prepare
- Your business details: registered name, address, registration and tax number (davčna številka in Slovenia, OIB in Croatia).
- The IBAN of the business bank account where payouts should arrive.
- Personal details and an ID document (ID card or passport) of the owner or legal representative.
- A phone number for SMS confirmations and an email address.
Creating a Stripe account, step by step
- 1
Sign up
Go to stripe.com and click “Sign up” (dashboard.stripe.com/register). Enter your email, full name, the country of your business and a password.
- 2
Confirm your email
Stripe sends a confirmation link to your inbox — click it.
- 3
Secure the account
Add your mobile number; Stripe sends an SMS code at sign-in (two-step verification).
- 4
Activate payments
In the Stripe dashboard click “Activate payments” and fill in the questionnaire: legal form (sole trader / company), registration and tax numbers, address, and what you sell (e.g. “restaurant — food orders”). As the website you can enter your restaurant's HereEats page.
- 5
Add the representative
Enter the personal details of the owner or authorised representative (name, date of birth, address). Stripe is legally required to verify them (know-your-customer rules).
- 6
Add the bank account
Enter the IBAN Stripe should automatically pay your money out to.
- 7
Verify identity
If Stripe asks for it, photograph or upload the representative's ID document. Verification usually takes from a few minutes up to 1–2 business days.
When online payments launch on HereEats, you will connect this Stripe account to your restaurant in the dashboard in a couple of clicks — we will notify you and guide you through it. If you get stuck at any point, write to support@hereeats.com — we will help or set it up together with you.
